There’s no need for us to tell you what happened in Orlando recently : if you’re reading this you know, we also know, and it was horrible enough that we’re not going to focus on the tragic aspect here, but rather a little bit of hope ; almost 50 artists have joined forces on a compilation to benefit the victims and their families this week.

After such an attack on the LGBT community, we’ve seen sympathy and we’ve heard thoughts and prayers from a bunch of people, which sometimes felt a bit insincere, and without saying there’s a right or wrong way to help in a situation like this, this initiative definitely hits home.

As written on the compilation’s bandcamp page, “This compilation is a love letter to the community of Orlando, FL. Following the tragic events at Pulse Nightclub on June 12th, we wanted to show our support and love for our LGBT community the best way we knew how; through music. The tracks on this album were all individually contributed by the bands and artists themselves; artists from Orlando, New York, California, England, and all over the globe.”

Times are tough and sometimes we don’t have much money to spare to donate, but this is available from just $1 ; not only is it a stellar deal for all the amazing music you’ll be able to listen to, every little helps. No donation is too small : as of today over $5 million has already been raised on the Pulse Victims gofundme page ; and many people gave amounts as small as $5, which was able to make this happen. So if you have a quid to spare, please consider donating to either of these.

I live in Paris. My music taste is a mix of Emo, Pop/Punk,and everything in between. I want to be a journalist when I become an adult. When I’m not listening to sad bands or ranting about feminism, I do embroidery and watch Parks And Recreation.
