Great Stuff You Missed – June 2018 Round Up

We all feel under the water sometimes when so much music is being released at the same time. No worries, we’ve got your back. We compiled here our favorite new tracks from last month. Here’s the great stuff you missed!

Youth Killed It – What’s So Great, Britain?

Ahead of the release of their new album ‘What’s So Great, Britain?’ (out on October 5, 2018 via Rude Records), indie punks Youth Killed It have introduced new single of the same name, along with a music video. Speaking about the song, the band stated : “It is a view from the perspective of the outside, looking in at the current divide in the country: Old vs young, poor vs rich, left vs right; and how all of it is just labels made up to split us further. We take each other for granted and it’s easy to forget that sometimes people might have differing opinions which come from a good place. ”

Concrete Surfers – VCR

VCR is the second single from Concrete Surfers upcoming second EP. If you’re into surf-rock style tunes with a hint of old-school garage sounds, make sure you add Concrete Surfers to your playlists.

Real Friends – From The Outside

In a bright and colorful approach, singer Dan Lambton opens up about mental illness, which he has been personally fighting for a long time, the turning point of it being his recent diagnosis with bipolar disorder. Real Friends will be releasing their new album ‘Composure’ on July 13, 2018.

Boston Manor – Halo

Through the release of this new single Halo, Boston Manor have also announced that their sophomore album, ‘Welcome To The Neighbourhood’ will see the light of day on September 7, 2018. Halo showcases a more mature version of Boston Manor, where they dive deeper into their own ability to make songs with more depth and authenticity.

Amy Shark – Don’t Turn Around

With her upcoming debut album ‘Love Monster’ (out July 8), Amy Shark promises to open her heart and soul to her listeners, as this song about a previous lover shows it. The songstress shares her own feelings of doubt, anxiety, anger and then hope; she reveals her inner demons and what not. Check out this recent single called Don’t Turn Around.

.IDLES – Danny Nedelcko

Danny Nedelcko is the first track taken from IDLES‘ upcoming sophomore album ‘Joy As An Act of Resistance’. The Bristol punks are known for their fairly politicized songs and Danny Nedelcko is no exception. Inspired to them by a close friend of the same name, the song tackles the sensitive subject of immigration. The music video features Danny himself. IDLES have tons of tour dates coming up next season and if they’re playing near you, just add it to your agenda.

Deafheaven – Canary Yellow

It’s getting more difficult to put words on the music Deafheaven are currently making, except that it is always spectacular. Canary Yellow is the second single from the band’s fourth album ‘Ordinary Corrupt Human Love’, set to be released on July 13.

Thrice – The Grey

Between the release of brilliant new music and tons of summer shows this month, Thrice are definitely spoiling us. Listen to The Grey right now if you still haven’t!
