Sometimes, there’s no need to go far to find what you need in music. Look around, sunshine, here are a few bands near you that are currently doing great things!
Set Things Right – Deathwish
Nearly 3 years after ‘This Is Home’, Set Things Right are about to drop a new full length album, called ‘Deathwish’. True to their form, Set Things Right will give it a proper welcome, with a release show in their hometown of Antwerp on February 18, with support from My Dog Is Radioactive, Moments and The Royal.
If you’re late to the party, you can check out Set Things Right’s most recent song/music video right here, as well as title track Deathwish just HERE.
Brutus have been around for a while now, but what you may have missed is that they have recently signed with Hassle Records (home for Balance and Composure, Frank Iero, Casey…) and are gearing up to release their debut album called ‘Burst’. An album release show will be happening in Brussels the next day (sold out!) and in the meantime, you can check out this session the trio recorded at Red Bull Studios in Paris a few months ago, in the above video. In sum, another band we recommend you to follow closely.
“Trouble comes in threes.
So does Brutus.”
‘Burst’ – Out on 04/02/2017
Atlas have released an album at the end of last year, which unexpectedly climbed to our favorite releases of 2016. If you’re a fan of harrowing laments, transforming into intensity peaks, then go listen to Atlas’ ‘B L U S H’ immediately. The band has a few shows lined up already in Belgium and Germany (to be announced soon)
Every Stranger Looks Like You
Every Stranger Looks Like You isn’t a newcomer in the european post hardcore landscape, but they’re only releasing their debut album now (soon), called “Bluest Shade Of Black”, through Dog Knights Productions. The record will come out in various shapes and colors (actually one shape and various pressings) and you can find all the details you need just here : ESLLY pre-orders.
Oh and a new song came out with a music video today and it’s currently premiered on UPSET; it really is good and different from what we’ve been hearing from the band so far (and strange – After all, it’s called Catharsis (self-help) for a reason) Check it out!
Call It Off
When it comes to punk rock, it’s no secret that we have a huge crush on Call It Off! Good thing, since they have announced the release of their brand new album ‘Abandoned’ on January 20th, 2017, as well as a release show in Eindhoven the next day (aka this weekend). Netherlands, go celebrate with Call It Off; you’re in for a treat! Pro tip : Start your day off right and listen to Abandoned above.
Wolves Scream x Reach The Shore
The belgians in Wolves Scream and Reach The Shore both have new records coming out real soon (respectively ‘Vestiges’ and ‘Hikaya’) and in this occasion, they all have decided to join forces and put on this double album release show at AB in Brussels (fancy!) on March, 18th, 2017. Details here : RTS x Wolves Scream release party
And music below, obviously. Get involved.
The Charm The Fury
Probably one of the most awaited album news of the year, The Charm The Fury have finally announced the release of ‘The Sick, Dumb and Happy’, through Nuclear Blast / Arising Empire on March 17th, 2017. Of course there will be an album release show at Sugarfactory in Amsterdam on March 24 and you can already get your tickets now.
Apparently a new track drops soon….
Born from the ashes of a well established parisian band (RiP) called Crackity Flynn, Paerish are currently our favorite local outfit, who are already doing big things. Having just released a debut album at the end of last year, Paerish have already completed a full European tour with Silversun Pickups and are currently on the road with Sum 41 though Europe. Needless to say that we do recommend you all to listen to their new album ‘Semi-Finalists’ and go see them play some tunes live, as soon as you can!
Mountains To Move
If you’re into anything that gravitates around current emo sounds, Mountains To Move are exactly what you want to hear. Here’s their most recent track Adieu, which is pretty cool. We dig.
Alright, we don’t have anything to show you here, but you should go follow RESOLVE. You’ll be hearing more about this in the coming weeks.
