EP Review: Ricky & Mark – Get A Real Job You Fucking Losers

get-a-real-jobToday I am the bearer of something new to Plug-In!

Meet Ricky & Mark, a rap comma everything (I did not make this up! Go check their facebook page!) duo that has released their EP ‘Get A Real Job You Fucking Losers’ September 16th. Now I know I’m extremely late to jump on the bandwagon, but I’ve been extremely busy saving the earth from evil monkeys. Monkeys that were trying to take over the world! Now back to the music, Ricky & Mark, consisting of Gajamagic and Ricky Pharoe. If you’re into this kind of music you may know these guys, Gajamagic toured with Macklemore and opened up for artists like De La Soul, Wu-Tang Clan and many others and Ricky has opened up for artists like MF Doom and Riff Raff.

Now to be brutally honest I usually steer clear from rap music because it’s just not my thing but damn their tunes are groovy! Are people still saying groovy? If not they should bring it back!

If you’re like me and this would be out of the ordinary for you I’m begging you to give them a chance, I mean honestly, look at the title of their EP, isn’t that one of the coolest EP titles ever? They have lyrics that make your jaw drop because they’re so brutal and crude yet in a classy way, did that even make any sense? And beats that just make you want to move even if you have no idea how to. Totally not talking about me here.

The EP exists of 7 tracks and I loved them all, but my favorites, without a doubt are Family Matters and On 1. On 1 is a track that could’ve been written by Pharrell Williams when he was doing the soundtrack for Despicable Me, only a PG 13 version I guess, once again, lyrics are on point!

A solid 8/10 I give this one!

You can check out Ricky & Mark on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube and be sure to take a look at On 1 to see what I’m talking about!

The color of my hair is changed as often as the band T-shirts I wear, I’m always looking for good music and great people to hang out with. Definitely a cat person!
